McKinley Elementary

About Your Reading Resource Teacher - Mrs. Schmidt graduated from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. She is beginning her 19th year here at McKinley. While at McKinley, she served as a United Way Representative, a member of Sunshine Committee, a participant of the McPic Committee, as our school mascot McCubby, as the school representative in managing our McCubby School Store, as McKinley's mentor for new teachers, as a strategic facilitator and resource teacher. She actively became involved in helping to implement the Sage program at our school. As the school coordinator for the Science Fair that we held in the past, Mrs. Schmidt recalls that event as one of the most rewarding memories.

Serving in the past as our district's elementary school reading coordinator for summer school, has allowed her to gain more knowledge about the diverse reading programs offered in our district.

This past year Mrs. Schmidt received a Masters Degree in Teacher Leadership.

Outside of school, she enjoys getting involved in church activities, loves to travel, and is kept quite busy with family activities.
